It’s the day of your first visit, but what happens?
Your very first visit is all about examining your teeth and jaws to work out your possible options. We do this by taking a series of diagnostic records in the form of digital photographs, models of the teeth and x-rays.
It’s a comprehensive evaluation that then enables us discuss your future orthodontic treatment and allows you to share your thoughts and wants with us.

What should you expect in terms of cost?
The cost of treatment is going to depend on your orthodontic cases, the treatment time and the chosen treatment type. But don’t worry; this will all be discussed with you prior to the commencement date of your treatment!
We try hard to make orthodontics an option for everything, that’s why we offer a number of payment plans to suit various budgets.
Here at Lavrin & Lawrence Orthodontics we accept various payment forms from cash to cheques and both Mastercard and Visa. If you want to write us a cheque, please make it out to Lavrin & Lawrence Orthodontics Pty Ltd.
How about your health fund? Will they offer you anything?
Yes, some health funds do offer rebates on orthodontic treatment! It does depend on your fund and the level of cover you have chosen. It’s best to check with your fund directly, they will be able to guide you through your options.

Your appointment times should suit you, right?
Right! During orthodontic treatment you’ll need to visit us every 6-8 weeks, but with school and/or work we know that can be difficult. But we have a scheduling system that ensures we have plenty of time with you, that way we can do everything in one go!
That’s why we try to schedule longer appointments (such as banding and bonding and initial consultations) during school or work hours, and shorter appointments (progress adjustments and checks) before and after school.
What if you need to reschedule?
We realise that sometimes things just come up, so that’s why we do our best to reschedule you appointment for as soon as possible, so that your progress isn’t affected.
If you are running late, we may have to reschedule your appointment, because otherwise it’s not fair on other patients.
In regards to cancellations, we request that you let us know at least 24 hours ahead of your cancelled appointment time to avoid a cancellation fee.
