Affordable, effective and increasingly discreet – traditional metal braces have a lot going for them. Their design, using brackets, archwires and elastic bands to move teeth into position, is still incredibly effective and has only become more so as the orthodontic industry has grown.

While many patients are concerned about what metal braces will look like on, they need not be. These days, the brackets which are bonded to the front of your teeth are much smaller and can come in clear ceramic material. The archwires which connect the brackets are thinner, and the elastic bands are clear, though you can choose coloured ones if you want to jazz up your appliance.
