COVID-19 update - 14th July 2020

To our dear patients and families,

As you are aware, the situation with regards to COVID-19 is constantly under review.

We have been advised by authorities as of tomorrow, Wednesday 15 July 2020, some restrictions of dental appointments will be in place with the cancellation of aerosol generating procedures. To our current knowledge, this will be in place until the end of Melbourne’s lockdown period. We will therefore be contacting some patients to re-schedule their appointment. Also please be aware for some patients we will keep their appointment as we will be able to complete most of their scheduled procedures. For many patients, their appointments will be unaffected as most routine orthodontic procedures are not aerosol generating. We appreciate your understanding with the rapidly changing landscape we are living in.

Other measures in place are temperature checking upon arrival of all patients along with screening questions. It is very important that we continue social distancing measures so we continue to limit the number of people entering our facilities. Please ensure as much as possible, only patients attend appointments. As per government directives, if possible we request that anyone entering the facility wear a face mask which will be removed for the appointment only. We also request patients to bring their own sunglasses for eye protection during their orthodontic appointment.

Finally, we would like to reassure you that the health and well being of our patients and team are our highest priority. We have stringent infection protocols in place and continue to review and implement the necessary additional measures as directed by government health authorities.

Stay safe from all the team at Lavrin & Lawrence Orthodontics

Covid 19 update - 8th July

To our dear patients and families,

Letting you know that we remain open for patient care and will continue, unless advised by government authorities.

Please check our Website and Facebook page for updates as this will be our main platform for communication.

We will be in touch further with information as it comes to hand.

We would like to remind you that you will be temperature tested and asked important questions upon arrival.

We continue to maintain social distancing and for your safety we have all necessary infection control measures in place.

Thank you for your understanding.

Covid 19 Update - 1st July

Please be aware that due to the most recent government directives, we are unable to see patients who live in suburbs which are currently in lockdown.

If you live in one of these affected postcodescould you please call us as soon as possible so that we can reschedule your appointment. If you are a patient from these areas and feel you need attention during the lock down, please call us to arrange an assessment over the phone. We may ask you to take some photos and will deal with the matter from there.

We are very conscious of continuing social distancing at both our practices and have a limit as to how many people can be in our reception areas at one time. We might need to ask you wait outside the reception area.

Thank you for your understanding should this occur.

COVID-19 Update - 22 June

The safety of all our patients and staff is paramount, so we have introduced temperature checks at both our offices. All patients and any parents or guardians attending with patients will have their temperature tested upon arrival as part of the pre-screening process. If a patient or visitor to our practice has a temperature then unfortunately they cannot be seen and will be advised to seek medical advice.

COVID-19 Update – 6 May 2020

Please be advised that even with the Government downgrading the COVID-19 restrictions in the Dental Industry from Level 3 to Level 2, we still need to take precautions to protect our patients and team members. Please read the following questions to ensure we are able to safely proceed with your appointment whilst still following the current government requirements for Level 2 restrictions.

  1. Have you returned from overseas or interstate travel in the last 14 days?
  2. Have you felt unwell, particularly with sore throat, cough, fever or shortness of breath?
  3. Have you had any contact with a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 within the last 14 days?
  4. Are you over the age of 70?
  5. Are you immunocompromised?

If you answered ‘yes’ to any of the above questions, then please contact us prior to your appointment date and we will be happy to assist in rescheduling your appointment.

When arriving at our practice, please enter and speak to our reception staff before taking a seat. If you prefer to wait in your car, please phone to let us know that you have arrived.

To ensure the safety of all of our patients and staff and in keeping with the government social distancing guidelines, we ask that only the patient attends their appointment (unless the patient is a minor or has special needs).

Thank you for helping Lavrin & Lawrence Orthodontics maintain a safe and healthy environment for all of our wonderful patients and team members.

COVID-19 Update –24 April 2020

Dear Patients,

As you may have heard the government has recently lifted the restrictions for dental procedures (including orthodontics) to level 2 restrictions. This means that we can see patients in our clinic but to a limited capacity.

Many orthodontic procedures and appointments can proceed as normal, however, certain procedures including those that produce aerosols will require to be postponed at this stage. We have also prioritised certain procedures that require urgent attention. We will call you soon to confirm or reschedule your appointment if required. Please be patient with us.

We still have social distancing guidelines in place and will limit the number of patients that can be in the practice at the same time. To limit the number of people in our practice please attend the appointment by yourself, and where possible parents please remain in the reception or outside the office or in your car. We are happy to discuss the treatment progress of your child via email or phone if required.

Please let us know if you have recently travelled in an area with a known local spread of COVID-19, have come in contact with someone who has a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis or have a fever or have been feeling unwell. Obviously, we want to keep our patients and staff healthy.

We really look forward to seeing you soon!

Kind regards,

The team at Lavrin and Lawrence Orthodontics

COVID-19 Update – 26th March

To our Orthodontic Family,

We pride ourselves on being an integral part of our community. In keeping with this spirit of commitment to our community and patients; we have made the difficult decision to close our clinic to physical patient appointments from close of business Thursday 26 March 2020.

This is in an effort to curtail non-essential trips out of your homes and in turn control the pandemic spread of COVID-19 (or Coronavirus). We want to do our part to help flatten the curve and keep our patients, families and staff safe. We are monitoring the situation closely and will re-open when the government lockdown is lifted.

However, rest assured you will not be alone and left in the lurch. If you are not on our virtualDental Monitoring app (DM), we will be implementing other systems to be able to virtually review your teeth and bite via email, and also virtual face to face advice and consultation as required with our team and Doctors. Please let us work through these systems to make sure they run smoothly, and we will be in touch with you shortly to recommend what you need to do.

Please note that new patient consultations can be done virtually and free of charge during this period!

For any emergencies, please phone us to discuss and we will advise on the best course of action.

If you have any enquiries, our team will be working remotely, so please contact us at lavrinortho.com.au or phone us on 9846 3811.

To stay informed, follow us on social media and stay tuned to our website as we will be posting updates regularly.

The health and safety of our patients, staff and whole community is our first priority. We thank you for your support and understanding during these unprecedented times. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Yours Sincerely,

Dr Lavrin, Dr Lawrence, Dr Sahhar and the Lavrin & Lawrence Orthodontics team
